Great Days Out at Cheshire Country Houses

Cheshire’s country estates offer some of the most idyllic venues for weddings and up-market corporate events. However, with most homeowners very welcoming of the public and keen to attract interest in their historic properties, many of Cheshire’s historical houses host an array of events throughout the year. With this series, keep up to date with all that Cheshire’s historical houses have to offer.

 

Capesthorne Hall – Owned by the Bromley-Davenport family who still reside at the impressive country mansion, Capesthorne Hall offers a great day out for the family. While being one of Cheshire’s foremost wedding venues, Capesthorne Hall also hosts a number of events throughout the year. This year’s Easter Experience, planned for the 12th of April, promises fun and games for parents and children. The Born Survivor event on the 2nd of May will provide a physical endurance challenge, designed by elite British Royal Marine commandos. May will also feature the legendary Cheshire Classic Car and Motorcycle Show, on the 24th. Other events scheduled for this year include the Rewind music festival (July 31st-Agust 2nd), the Landscape Painting Summer School (August 10th-August 14th) and the Plant Hunters’ Fair (August 16th).

Adlington Hall and Gardens – Adlington Hall offers Cheshire’s plushest surroundings for corporate events and celebrations. For gala dinners and private dining, team events and away days, awards ceremonies, meetings and conferences and celebration of life ceremonies, Adlington Hall offers the perfect surroundings. The owners of Adlington Hall also offer private group hall tours, for a minimum of twenty people, at anytime of the year. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the country estate’s architecture, gardens and history, with The Great Hall hosting the main attraction that is the 17th century Great Organ. Adlington Hall will also offer a number of events this year, including the Plant Hunters’ Fair (Sunday 10th May), the Summer Evening Organ Recital with Jonathan Scott (Thursday 25th June) and the Children’s Outdoor Theatre which will present Little Red and the Big Bad Wolf (Friday 14th August).
